Star Crossed Rainbow - a FREE Pattern! + Finished or Not Friday Linky Party

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Finished and Not Finished are two Star Crossed Rainbow lap quilts.

Last Sunday I guest blogged at Confessions of a Fabric Addict during the Hands2Help Charity Quilt Challenge and featured Star Crossed Rainbow in my post.  This is a free pattern in my pattern shop.

And here is the delicious backing.  It's Benartex Gradation in Rainbow.  It looked very weird on Craftsy's site, but I ordered it anyway quite awhile ago.  After I pulled it out for this project, I went ahead and bought a huge pile of it to have on hand as backing for rainbow quilts since it is so beautiful and was on clearance.  GULP, I may have bought them out!

My Not Finished - Star Crossed Rainbow also looks great with a white background and the center squares turned differently.  Every block in this pattern is strip pieced, making the process go very quickly.  The hardest part is figuring out where to put the colors, and I've done all the figuring for you.  Grab a Kona Roll Up and go!

Quilt Stats:
  • Pattern:  Star Crossed Rainbow
  • Size:  Lap, 60" square.
  • Fabric:  Kona Cottons
  • Quilting:  Digital e2e design on Gratitude.
  • Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly.
  • Backing:  Benartex Gradation in Rainbow.

Last week's featured project!

If you want your quilt featured here next week, be sure to put a link back to this post in your post or sidebar, or tag @busyhandsquilts on Instagram, AND link directly to your blog post so I don't have to hunt it down.

There are two sales happening this weekend that you don't want to miss!  First up, Craftsy is having a clearance sale!  This may be the last time you see a lot of these kits and fabrics, so get them while you can.

Of course you want to see what I bought, right??  Oh my, have you seen the new Lily & Loom fabrics at Craftsy?  It's a new line that has a lot of playful collections in it.  I couldn't resist On Deck and Strawberry Fizz, as well as some batting that I needed.  I blame Craftsy.  They sent an On Deck charm pack along with all that Gradation rainbow {well, it's my fault that box came!}, and I was hooked!  I have plans to use these fabrics for new cover quilts for two of my patterns, so you will be seeing them again soon.

The next sale you don't want to miss is over at Annie's.  They're having up to 60% off clearance items.  Here's a sampling of some of the books that are deeply discounted.

It's your turn to share your finish {or not}!  What's welcome at this party?
  • Any in-progress or finished project made with fabric, yarn, or thread is welcome!
  • Projects from this week only!
  • ♥ ♥ PLEASE!  Link to the actual blog post, not your home page.  We'd like to see your post and don't have the time to go hunt it down.
  • Include the Finished or Not Friday button or a text link that links back to this week's link-up in order to share the fun.  No, I won't delete your link if you don't, but hey, adding a link in your post is just being friendly, so be friendly and share!!

Hi Myra,
Oh, your rainbow quilts are beautiful. I don't know which I like better - the gray or white background. I'm leaning toward the gray until I look again at the white. So fun! ~smile~

Nice finish and almost finish! You were right to buy out all that backing--it's really nifty, and perfect for rainbow quilts. :)
